Ask me anything
There was a big change during the time I was in Europe. This change concerned Traffic, Jethro Tull, Spooky Tooth and bands like that, but I did not realize until I went to see Rory Gallagher and Taste at the Lyceum. Only then I realized that there was potential for something to happen, because I did not see myself as a pop star or thought to go anywhere to be like that. But with the arrival of new groups, there was a new trend to follow and we headed over there.

Today in 1970, the gender-bending single “Lola,” by the Kinks, was released. The song details a romantic encounter between a young man and a possible transvestite or transgender person he meets in a club in Soho, London, with the narrator describing his confusion towards a person named Lola who “walked like a woman and talked like a man.”
